Do this to launch your own lucrative idea factory…
Each “note” you take should be looked at as a small idea, an atomic thought.
When you make this mental shift — your “notes” evolve massively — from a mere pile of notes to a network of your thoughts and ideas.
You begin to create your very own “idea factory”.
(If you create content of any sort, this becomes invaluable for you later on)
I use this concept for any meaningful content I consume:
- Like a physical book I’m reading
- A video or movie I’m watching
- An article, ebook or
- A podcast or audiobook
I get the most value from these notes when I process them in a “Slip-Box” — my own DIGITAL IDEA FACTORY.
Here I write (in my own words) what I think about the source material.
💡I DON’T just copy word for word from any other source — that’s the lazy “note taking method”.
Instead, I add context to why it’s important to me — important enough for me to save.
If it’s an inspiring quote, I’ll include what the quote means to me in my own words.
This way I’m capturing MY inspired thoughts, not just capturing someone else’s ideas.
This process becomes exponentially more powerful later on when it’s time to create…
As you build the knowledge within your “Idea Factory” (also known as a Slip-Box) will begin to work on your behalf.
Certain topics and story angles will begin to stand out in size and sophistication.
My idea factory brings these topics to my attention.
This is how I’m able to use my idea factory as my personal scribe.
It will become apparent that you have collected and created a lot of thoughts and ideas towards that particular subject.
You didn’t have to plan for it to be a major topic within your idea factory.
It just naturally grew that way — based on your own interests and thoughts compounding over time.
This is a phenomenal process for coming up with truly creative ideas —
Ideas that aren’t forced.
Ideas that provide great value to you.
Ideas that likely will provide huge value to others.
